Health. Care. Incarcerated.

a podcast that investigates the state of health & wellbeing in U.S. prisons.

Is creating a healthier prison even possible?

In 30-minute episodes, Health. Care. Incarcerated. explores health issues from diet to diabetes, maternal health to mental health, and how it’s all paid for. By weaving together perspectives from incarcerated people, medical and legal experts, and prison staff and administrators, the show stands out as a unique resource for understanding the human impact of two complex worlds: prison and healthcare. Their respective priorities are at odds, and yet they coexist. People are getting sick while in carceral care because of carceral care and Health. Care. Incarcerated. aims to raise our collective consciousness in order to change that.
